Host Bishop:
The Most Rev. Robert W. Finn
, sixth bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph and host bishop of the conference, has established vocations to the priesthood and religious life as well as evangelization and catechesis as clear priorities for the diocese. He is chairman of the Bishop's Task Force on the Life and Dignity of the Human Person and President of the Institute on Religious Life.

Dr. Barbara J. Elliott, the founder of the Center for Cultural Renewal, lecturer for the Catherine of Siena Institute and author of four books including Street Saints: Renewing American Cities and Equipping The Saints, is an adjunct member of the faculty of the University of Houston and the winner of many prestigious awards. She is a member of Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.
Fr. John Jay Hughes was an Anglican priest for 6 years before entering the Catholic Church in 1960. He was conditionally ordained to the Catholic priesthood in 1968. A Church historian and priest of the St. Louis archdiocese, he is the author of No Ordinary Fool: A Testimony to Grace, the story of a man who, 57 years after ordination, is still in love with the priesthood, as well as numerous other articles and publications.
Fr. Ian Ker is the author of Mere Catholicism (a popular introduction to the Catholic faith), the definitive John Henry Newman: A Biography, G. K. Chesterton: A Biography, and other books and articles too numerous to count. He is a parish priest and teaches theology at Oxford University.
Msgr. Jeffrey Steenson was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as first Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter on January 1, 2012. After 28 years as an Episcopal priest and Bishop of the Diocese of the Rio Grande, Msgr. Steenson was ordained a Catholic priest in 2009. He teaches Patristics at the University of St. Thomas and St. Mary's Seminary in Houston, TX
Workshops:
Fr. Andrew Bartus, is the founder of the Blessed John Henry Newman Society of Orange County in California, the start of a new parish for the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter in the Catholic Church. He is a former priest in the Traditional Anglican Communion.
Fr. Eric Bergman, the first priest incardinated into the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, is founder of the 150-member St. Thomas More Anglican Use Society of Scranton, PA, which will become St. Thomas More Parish at St. Joseph Church in late August.
Mr. James Carlyle, a candidate in the Pastoral Provision for former Episcopal priests for the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph, is a professional church planter and mentor for others called to plant new churches. He and his wife were received into the full communion of the Catholic Church at Pentecost, 2011.
Mrs. Valerie Davis was an active member of a team that tripled the membership of an established Episcopal parish, and considers being married to a priest as a particular vocation. She earned an M.A. in Spiritual Direction from the General Theological Seminary and was received into the full communion of the Catholic Church in 1998.
Mr. Marlon De La Torre, is Secretary to the Pastoral Provision Office headed by Bishop Kevin Vann of the Diocese of Fort Worth, Ecclesiastical Delegate for the Pastoral Provision. He is also Diocesan Director of Catechist Formation and Children's Catechesis and the author of Screwtape Teaches the Faith: A Guide for Catechists.
Mr. Denis Greene, a very active lay member of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, founded Church Development in 1992 after a near-death experience motivated him to integrate his faith, education and skills in work that served the church and the virtue of stewardship; he is the author of The Stewardship System, Stewardship-Based Capital Campaigns, and How To Ask For Donations as well as numerous articles on stewardship.
Fr. Scott Hurd is Vicar General of the Personal Ordinarate of the Chair of St. Peter, liaison with the USCCB for the implementation of the Apostolic Constitution, Anglicanorum Coetibus and is a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington D.C.
